While Kentucky is known for tobacco farms, fine bourbon, and a stellar system of state parks, it is also famous for breeding many different horses, ranging from Thoroughbreds to Saddlebreds. In this equestrian environment, a family passed down a farm through generations, each one building onto the horse industry in Kentucky Blue Grass. They were the O’Connor’s.
The two stables and the equestrian-specialized land in Kentucky Blue Grass were built many years ago by the O’Connors. The first generation was two brothers named Jacob and Marc O’Connor. Both of the brothers were devoted to horses and both equally competitive, partially because in their family, males were known for competing against one another constantly for the rights of bragging a winning title. Usually the few incidents when their competitive edge went too far were quickly settled, but as the boys got older, horses started to tear them apart, and their family could not piece them back together. In the brothers’ minds, there could only be one winner for a talent such as horsemanship. Jacob and Marc soon became millionaires because of their competitive attitudes, and both built their own beautiful, top scale barns on either ends of a small town called Nicholasville.
Time passed, and the brothers got married and had children. Marc had told his two kids that their uncle was a bad man and to never go near him. When Jacob heard this from friend, Jacob just had to tell his three kids that their uncle was a bad man and to never go near him or his family. When the two brothers died due to medical reasons, the stables were passed down as a family tradition. Years and years went by and the stables were still passed down through the O’Connor family. Each new generation knew that their rival stable had to be beaten, and so for many long years the stables feuded.
In 2007 however, this all changed. A young woman, Addison James, was handed one of the infamous stables, Circa. She had known about the hatred the two brothers had forced upon her family and was dissapointed. But now things have changed, and she is the only one related to the brothers. The owners of The Gates Stables, the other infamous stables, had gone down the hole with money and have no children to follow in their foot steps. Now the barn is for sale, but an offer has been put on the place. With more people living in this town, more people are going to have to choose what stables to board at. The owner of The Circa Stables has high hopes that the feud will end. But will it?
