We're now officially a forum/pbp based RPG! We're a freeform, character sheet enforced, Medieval Fantasy RPG. The RPG itself has a 'storygaming' or 'storyplaying' overall theme. We are a writing-intensive game which emphasizes gritty realism and character development. There are IRC/chat options for alternative platforms.
We do not condone strict third-person perspectives, as we are constantly switching tenses and atmospheres. We support an interactive and live roleplaying field, where characters are in the 'now'-- whereas it's common for PbP's to forego a dead-pan style, that lacks a sharpness derived from emotional input and instead a detached, monotone perspective intended for word-count relevance. Word-count is not a means to hierarchy in Aegle Waygate. We roleplay by mutual agreement which does not rely on statistics or dice. (However, there are useable battle rules if the players are not concerned with negotiating the battle's determined outcome OOC.)
There is no fixed plot or per-determined adversary! Rather, it is up to the players to create their storylines, lineage and future. This is an RPG where the characters drive the stories, and there are many shocking and most profound stories to be unearthed.
