The family were foraging, yes simply foraging when the dominant male
heard...a goshawk. He chattered loudly to everyone, to go into abandoned
holes. They all scattered.But one, ill,old one lay there, her heart beating,
unaware because she was asleep, would have a nice peaceful death. The
goshawk swooped down..
When the meerkats reappeared from the holes, they saw nothing of the old
female, instead lying there was a half eaten scorpion, so as you have
guessed the pups ran to get it.
The rest, called the pups back and ran back to the burrow. They'd leave the
death bit for today and act normal tomorrow, maybe another death would
follow, but they have learned,through the ages its..life and death in their
world..
