Chimera is the land of Nightmares. Every bad dream you've had, every monster you've imagined - they all live here. A completely different dimension of it's own, it's just like any other place you might stay. (Heh, sure...) It's always just existed, probably always will. It's just there, a swirling vortex of terrors. And the only way in or out is through the Edge. Psychic activity just below the level of awareness. That’s what we are. Just a dream evoking feelings of intense fear, horror, and distress. Welcome . . . . . to Chimera. Little town of horrors. Nightmares feed off of fear. Food is an enjoyment here, not a necessity. We must go about doing devilish little acts, or else we will slowly die. We are immortal and shall always live, never aging or changing. Unless, of course, we stop being scary. Is there some sort of plot? If so, what is it?- Chimera, the land of Nightmares and all things horrible, is ruled by King Jack. No one knows exactly when he came to power, but no one has really bothered themselves enough to care either. He's just always been there.
Since there are no pictures of him available and no one besides palace workers has ever talked to him face to face, there are rumors that he is merely legend. What kind of Nightmare can make your whole body paralyzed with fear with just one look?
Now, you need to understand that where there is darkness, there is light, where there is evil, there is good. And where there is a home for Nightmares, there is also a home for Dreams. The new queen in said home has become so obsessed with 'goodness' that she is determined to get rid of Nightmares permanently.
Of course, this is very near impossible, since she can't get in there, but a few failure dreams are sent in as spies. Also, she has concocted a type of "dream bomb", which is basically a small sphere of light and laughter that literally destroys anything it touches, along with everything in a mile radius of it. This is how the endless wastes were formed.
For some reason, unbeknownst to any of us, the king has decided not to fight against the queen. This caused a bit of an uproar amongst the Nightmares. One in particular. Neo, the flying crow. He and his Darkened Misfits began a rebel organization, waging small attacks against the king in an effort to dethrone him.
And so, times can be tough here in Chimera, but we're creatures of fright and darkness. Whatever would we do if it was happy?
