The Beginning
Lybrachien was once a wondrous place, isolated from all humans through an impenetrable mist, and home to all the wildlife that flourished under its magic. The land was divided into three areas; Joylebbe, home to wolves and other creatures, Benjouw, home to the majestic Giant Eagles, and Urgaik, home to the humongous Dragons. Though there were territorial disputes amongst the larger two of Lybrachien's inhabitants, all seemed to be in relative peace -- until several arguments amongst the dragons leaked to the eagles, and everyone began to doubt one another. Tensions grew to rivalries, and the Reality, the resident god, was forced to kill the queen dragon. Her death led to the depletion of magic throughout the land's borders... one by one, mighty and meager beasts alike fell to death, and fewer and fewer creatures remained alive throughout the chaos. Eventually, Lybrachien was down to just a few residents: among which was the new queen of dragons, Amethystite.
The Centauri
For nearly two decades, the lands were deprived of magic, just barely sustaining the remaining creatures. That was, until hope arose in the form of a certain Centauri pet.
Colo was a scientific experiment by humans to test how much they could tamper with nature and its species. He came by a boat full of bawdy sailors, who were all eager to battle past the fierce storm that the Frozen Waters provided them with, and sail on to calmer waters. This was executed once the battling waters suddenly stopped, giving way to clear, sedate waters. Naturally, the captain changed his course and headed for the less rough ocean. The boat soon came to a strange fog, but being none the wiser, they merrily chugged onwards, ecstatic at the sudden "paradise" they'd found.
Despite its seemingly gentle entreaties, though, the Reality had no intention to use Colo as a scientific experiment; in fact, it intended for the precious cargo to help replenish Lybrachien's wolven population. In its desperation, the Reality had managed to influence the waters outside of its grasp, slowly beckoning the ship and its Centauri cargo towards the shore.
As soon the weary boat was far enough into Lybrachien's waters, the waves lashed out at her, drowning her crew and tearing her apart. The sole survivor was Colo, who was plucked off of the boat by the few Giant Eagles remaining, and entrusted to Amethystite, queen of dragons. The few creatures that were left died as soon as Colo was off of the boat; Lybrachien's only inhabitants were now the dragon and the Centauri. Colo proceeded to establish his own territory and pack, naming it Jinnabully, after the ship that brought him here.
The Present
After Colo, several new creatures were attracted to Lybrachien, and the population slowly began to replenish itself to its previous glory. In addition to the first pack, Jinnabully, a new rival pack -- Sycthorn -- was created by the malevolent wolves of Lybrachien, namely Lazarus and Swerve. Though there are yet to be any physical encounters between the two packs, tensions have already begun to make way for plans to destroy one another.
Giant Eagle eggs were found, and the remaining four birds of the species are currently being taken care of by Amethystite, who is slowly being driven to madness by their rampant nature. The most recent arrivals to Lybrachien are of the equine branch: Versperre, under the leadership of the mare Stahl, has developed into a powerful horse herd and is currently accepting members.
Perhaps the most striking news, though, is that of a new Goddess among Lybrachien’s lands... one of much more malevolent intentions than the Reality. Sh’zui, previously manifested within Sycthorn’s beta, has already stirred up trouble in paradise once already. The next time she strikes, if she ever does again, will likely result in a huge power struggle between both gods. It’s all bound to cause much mayhem amongst Lybrachien’s inhabitants, as they are forced to deal with matters much larger than themselves.
Also, Amethystite might not be the only dragon in Urgaik for forever... one never knows what the Reality will come up with next. It certainly won’t like to see its most powerful species die off so suddenly.
The Out of Character
* Expelled from Reality is an intermediate to advanced site that is active. Our basic requirements are one lengthy paragraph per post, but the average is two to four paragraphs, while anything less is frowned upon. Also, the site is fantasy, so you can go fairly crazy with your characters. (Wings and magical powers can be discussed, but should be minimal.)
* We have a friendly staff and only one admin, as to avoid clashes in power and/or decision-making. She has the final word, always, but she is flexible enough to be swayed by persuasive arguments. The EfR community’s tendency is to be extremely spontaneous and random, but nevertheless lovable.
* The main species for EfR are wolves, Giant eagles, and dragons. Predatorial oddities (bears, wild cats, crocodiles, etc.) are allowed, and horses are allowed within the horse herd. Invented species are also allowed.
* There is always a major, board-wide plot in motion, discussion, or preparation. Smaller character plots are very much encouraged to spice things up a bit.
* More Giant Eagles should be expected this winter, as the current ones shall clutch during that time, and Dragons will be coming around sometime next in-game year.
* EfR has been around for over a year and a half, and is in very healthy condition, so members need not worry about constant hiatuses or closings.
* Human[oid]s cannot see past the mist of Lybrachien at all, and thus cannot enter the lands. Death awaits those who try.
* We hope to see you there!
